Job Summary:
Ocarina Networks has a newly created position for a Senior System Test Engineer for its line of storage optimization appliances. This engineer will plan, execute, and report on tests performed on Ocarina’s appliances, which are to be deployed in a wide range of customer storage environments in conjunction with multiple NAS and RAID hardware from different vendors. System test plans in anticipation of each customer deployment will be unique. This position affords the opportunity to work with a wide variety of storage hardware, along with many different clustering, replication, and backup strategies.

This position requires:

Hands-on experience in development and test lab environments and demonstrated understanding of Interoperability, Boundary and System Testing.
Storage testing experience, especially with NAS, but also with any or all of SAN, clustering, replication, RAID, and backup strategies. The successful candidate will understand clustering and its typical issues.
Experience configuring, troubleshooting and operating storage in a Linux environment.
Ability to understand and troubleshoot Perl scripts.
Ability to conduct disciplined testing of product versions in multiple storage environments.
Windows experience is a plus.

Additional attributes which would be attractive, and useful in this role, include:

File system testing experience.
Performance testing experience.
Other operating systems: Solaris, Windows 2000.
L2 and L3 networking (routing, VLANs).
