Sales Territory Manager (NY)

Job Description
We are seeking sales over-achievers with excellent communication skills and a consistent track record of exceeding quota. Successful applicants possess an industry reputation for competence, professionalism, integrity, and a passion for winning. Under limited direction, prospect and close new accounts in target markets. Establish and nurture relationships at all levels of the customer organization as appropriate, departmental through line of business and CxO. Assimilate specific vertical market background, requirements, and infrastructure attributes, and apply this knowledge to sell Ocarina solutions. Drive account strategies and coordinate team-selling efforts to close business on a quarterly and annual basis. Manage multiple customers and opportunities, maintain accurate forecasting and clear management communication. Drive referenceable customer satisfaction in all assigned accounts.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Storage testing experience, especially with NAS, but also with any or all of SAN, clustering, replication, RAID, and backup strategies. The successful candidate will understand clustering and know its typical issues
  • Experienced with selling enterprise storage solutions; large scale NAS products strongly preferred
  • Strong current relationships with top tier storage buyers in assigned territories required
  • Consistent track record of exceeding quota while maintaining customer loyalty and product margins
  • Demonstrated ability to penetrate and close new accounts and opportunities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of the storage industry, especially NAS, SAN, file systems, and virtualization products. Experience managing channel partners within a geography to aggressively grow revenue and customer base.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster communication within a sales team while promoting independent activities and parallel efforts
  • Strategic account planning experience; history of proactive creation and ongoing management of detailed account plans
  • Ability to maintain high activity levels while forecasting accurately to sales management
  • Competitive, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent team building and influencing skills
  • Combination of startup and large company experience a plus

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience selling enterprise storage solutions; large scale NAS products strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 30-40% of the time
  • Must have BA/BS in Business, Management, Computer Science, or Engineering
